Tamsweg is the cosy capital of the Lungau. All imaginable amenities are present here such as shopping center, hospital, pharmacy, doctors, bakers, traditional butchers, Konditoreien, bars, nightclub, restaurants etc. can be reached in about 5 minutes from Lungau Residence to the mall or the central market square. On the market square, various activities and events are organized in the summer. In the morning, you can get fresh bread at one of the bakeries in the centre. And do you not feel like making breakfast yourself? Then you can also have breakfast at various locations in the centre!

In contrast to the other villages in the Lungau such as Mauterndorf, St. Michael in Lungau and St. Margarethen, Tamsweg can also be called lively outside the holiday periods. It is certainly not quiet and deserted outside of the holiday seasons. The regional function of Tamsweg gives the experience of all year-round activities without feeling oppressed.
